QUESTION ABOUT A TX COIN SHOW.....

i am new here and a rookie at the coin collectiing hobby but was wondering are there any coin shows that happens in Houston like at the george r brown convention center or near houston? i always hear about large coin shows and would very much like to go to one. if you know of any coming to houston in the near future please let me know!

there is a large coin show in Houston at the Convention Center at the end of January each year (Money Show of the Southwest). Not on par with the ANA, Baltimore, or FUN shows, but large for South Texas.

I think the Bellaire coin show is coming up soon, let me check. Not a "big" show, but enjoyable.

The Bellaire Coin Show is Aug. 5&6. Sat. 9am to 6 pm, Sunday 10am to 4pm.

I believe that the Bellaire coin show is in August. As Louis stated, it is not a mega show but there are plenty of dealers there and the BCC (Bellaire Coin Club) has a booth so you can sign up for announcements and things, and join while you are there. There is a small group of forumites that show up and spend a few minutes talking at these shows so you could introduce yourself around.

show set up is August 4, 2006 Friday, 5:00 PM, the club will have barbecue. The show dates are Saturday, August 5, 2006 9 to 6 and Sunday, August 6, 2006 9 to 4. The Bellaire Civic Center is located at 7000 South Rice Avenue, (Interstate 610 #6 At Bellaire Boulevard).

you can always buy! Most coin shows will have some currency, but not much until you visit larger shows

The one at the George R. Brown Center is a pain for me to get to. I saw a bigger attendance the year the Jan show was held at Greenspoint Mall. Glad to see a one day at the Wyndham (across the street form Greenspoint Mall?) in October.
