Did Babe Ruth come back from the dead?

I don't want to offer up any sinister theories, but I'm going through SCD and it seems everybody has a Babe Ruth autograph for sale! Sometimes even more than one!
How rare is this sig, then, when everybody seems to have one?
In years past I've never seen so many Ruth autos for sale at any one time.
So what could be a legit way of explaining this?

<< <i>Ruth signed thousands and thousands and thousands of autographs in his decades as the biggest sports celebrity in the world. And EVERYONE who got one, kept it. His autograph is in extremely high demand, but it not at all rare, unless you want a clean single-signed sweet spot official ball.

Well put Joe.
I agree.

But that said - there are a huge number of his autographs in the marketplace. I think Barry Halper's sale, for example, had over 250 Babe Ruth signatures, perhaps many more.
