    Nice. In fact, VERY nice!

It would be fun to see a photo of the 1921-D Walkers all lined up!
    When in doubt, don't.

It was the 1855 large cent, I called a 61BN

A funny story on the 02-s $, as this coin was one of the freshest 02-s Morgans that I had seen raw. Just a scattering of very light contact marks, fresh strong luster , IMO a very nice 64. I had purchased this coin from a local dealer from a collection that came in (not morgan $, but an assortment of various stuff) for a coin club member as he had been looking for a nice 02-s Morgan for quite a while. I showed him the coin and told him that I wanted Ms-63 ask for it, becuase it was so nice and that I paid MS-63 bid for it (which is true). only a $40.oo mark-up. Well he he'd & hawd about the price and thought it was too high. So I decided to keep it to submit becuase I knew it was a nice 64. Well his loss, I cant wait to show him at the next local club meeting

    15 1 08610407 6491 1901-S 50C US AU55 (this is a cosignors)

Did you have to get a loan to buy that one?

    Robert,

The 01-s was previously in a PCGS-53 OGH, but it had a stain on the obverse. We submitted it to NCS at CSNS to have the stain removed but wanted the coin back raw, not NGC holdered. You should have seen the look on the NGC guys face when we told him "no we dont want it NGC graded" just conserved. Anyway, it was really choice and original prior to conserving but with the brown stain, the NCS team got the stain off, but left it with a somewhat dipped look. I like it better the other way personally. But based on the number of barber halfs I see in holders, I felt it would holder and possibly a point higher due to the grade of the coin. Well apparently it did as it graded a 55. My cosignor doesnt even know yet, as I cant get in touch with him till friday am. He will be pleased. I am sure he will ask me to list it on e-bay as he has two more 01-s halves already, one in PCGS-53 and PCGS-63. As far as loan, its only about a 1500-1700 coin IMO?

Jim- a cosignor is someone who co-signs a loan if you are unable to get one on your credit alone. Someone who has you sell a coin and gives you a cut of the sale price is a consignor, not a cosignor. Hence my post.

Your story is interesting though, why did he give you a funny look when you told him you didn't want it NGC graded? Maybe they don't get very many conservation-only requests?

    Jim,

Glad to see you are pleased with the grades.! Thanks for your patience with questions on the Barber halves as well.

    Don

PS bet those midgrade Walkers do look great lined up as someone else posted above.
Do your best to avoid circular arguments, as it will help you reason better, because better reasoning is often a result of avoiding circular arguments.
