Submission lost at PSA?

Has anyone ever had a submission lost at PSA?I have a submission that was sent out on 7/06 and confirmed recieved in at PSA on 7/11 due to my USPS tracking number and info from a PSA service rep (I use that term loosely). It still isn't entered into their system and the customer service reps. who had a surprisingly nonchalant attitude about the situation said it could take 3-7 days to input the submission status information into their system after the package arrives.I have been doing business w/ PSA for about 3 years and have never heard of such a thing. My other shipment sent out the same day to PSA with the same 5 day grading fees has already been graded and is coming back to me.Any suggestions on who to talk to in a supervisory capacity as I've already gone the customer service route and they seemed more interested in how to get me off the phone than how to help me.I have also sent an e-mail without a response. How difficult can it be to track down a package your own employees state entered the building a week ago.I have spent well into 5 figures with PSA last year and this one as well but yet I can't seem to get anyone with a sense of concern.Any suggestion would be appreciated.

  • I've had orders entered over a week after they arrived. I sometimes wonder what's happening, or what isn't. I'd give it till the end of the week, then raise hell.

I've had submissions there for a few weeks without being logged in. Call customer service, and when they tell you they can't find it ask them to check the problem shelf. It's always there. No one will call you, it'll just sit there until you make them find it. You probably included a tall boy in there, or it was postmarked a day after the special, or you forgot to sign it, or something like that. I only heard of 1 submission that has been lost out of all the ones sent it.

  • I had a submission that I forgot to write 'set registry special' on the outside of the box. Sat on the problem shelf for a few days after it was received, but not logged. I called explained that I thought I may have forgotten to label it and sure enough, it was logged that night.
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Well I think lots of subs get lost at PSA, even ones logged in. How else can you explain this.

    Date Received: 06/13/2006
Date of Grades Posted: No Date Specified
    Date Shipped: No Date Specified

But others getting grades back from subs recieved on or after 7/01. All under the same special.

    Michael,

First off, Welcome to the boards!

Second, I had a submission that was lost for over 8 months! If you want the whole story then do a search for the thread "What a nightmare."
The one person that did help me at PSA was Lavarr Bridges. I too had to make alot of phone calls and send alot of emails before I spoke to someone who was willing to address the issue of my lost sub.
Its too bad that it needs to get this far out of hand before any action is taken.
    Goodluck!

There doesn't seem to be any order in which submissions get finished- I've had some sitting there for weeks longer than ones that were graded, and it's really frustrating. Sure doesn't seem to be FIFO.
The submissions sit in little bins on the shelf, and the graders grab one when they are ready. I wonder if they look at them first, and decide they want to do a small one, or a big one, or an old one, etc.
Andre Spicer in CS has been really helpful when I"ve had problems.

  • I mailed my last sub on 6/30. It wasn't logged in by 7/11 so I called them. PSA said they didn't have my order. She checked the "problem shelf" and it wasn't there either. She told me they should have logged it in by now and I should check with my local Post Office.

three hours later, it was mysteriously logged in and I received the standard e-mail confirmation.image

He is a great asset to PSA..he's help me out in the past as well. When all else fails...Joe Orlando has personally answered EVERY email or phone call that I have placed to him!! And it was within a couple of hours......not 7 months like my Donruss fiasco....

Stop complaining about FIFO. Clearly PSA monitors these boards, clearly they have heard the hundreds of collectors complaining about it,
clearly they dont seem concerned enough to explain or respond.

Perhaps in between the main course and dessert at the PSA luncheon someone can raise the issue.

I sent a sub in to PSA last year with several different items... the somehow lost one of the items (which I still had pictured of). About 2 weeks later I had a check in my mailbox from PSA for the value of the lost peice. Oddly enough they still had 4 of the 5 items I sent in on that sub. It was quite a valuable peice and I had rather my buyer been able to buy it from me than me just getting a check... but there is a lesson to be learned here:

Always take pictures/scans of everything before you send it to PSA.
