Now were did I put that 1909 SVDB penny? Damn, I put it in a gumball machine yesterday.
Oh well, it was only a penny.

What are you smoking dude? I won't talk for everyone here, but the smart people in this hobby not only have fun collecting, but also collect cards/autos/memorabilia that will at minimum hold their value.

In my neighborhood, guys like Vinnie, Joey, Spike, Andy, Big Mike and Pete collected sports cards.
Guys like Oswald, Harry, Leslie and Ashley collected coins and stamps.
And to this day, guys like Vinnie and Joey are still kicking Oswald and Ashley's ass.

Why didn't I think of that first?

I just got back from watching Rockstar Supernova!
But, I just wanted to say to Coin that I was just being a wiseguy.
But, come on.
I would never dream of walking over to the coin forum and opening with - are coins worth anything?
For many here the "value" of the cards is in the "experience" - the toil that goes into the hunt, the joy of the acquisition, the ecstasy of the prize and the pure Love of the Hobby.
Are cards valuable?
You bet - because they are a link to the past and our childhood experiences - and are connected to the sports we love.
