Home Coin Swaps, Tags and Giveaways

Missed CoinDexters.....guess I will start one as well. COIN TAG!! This will be for pre-1964 coins O

Rules used by permission from CoinDexter:

This will be for pre-1964 coins ONLY! NO MODERN COINS MINTED AFTER 1964!!! This includes : tokens, medals, commemoratives...etc.

Okay folks, it's tag time! Here are the official rules for this tag:

THE RULES

1) All contact info shared between all members of the tag.
2) Once a tag begins, no one may be added to the list.
3) A detailed list of items contained in the box will be both kept by the sender and included in the box. The receiver will mark off the coins they take and add their additions to the list. They will also make a copy of the altered list for their records.
4) All box transactions will be posted to a tag thread which will be started by the person that initiates the tag. For example, if I remove an UNC 1885O Morgan from the box and added an UNC 1896 Morgan I would post something like: "Removed UNC 1885O $1 and replaced it with UNC 1896 $1." This way everybody can track what's going on with the tag and knows exactly what to expect when the box gets to them.
5) No person may keep the tag box more than 5 business days to insure timely completion of the tag.

There are a few additional rules that will apply with mine:

1. You must have completed a minimum of 2 swaps in this forum and they must have been successful. I really don't like getting burned and neither will anyone else.

2. If you take 1 item from the box and wish to exchange it with several coins that equal the proposed amount, you need to disclose the dates, mm, and type of coins. If any of the participants wish to take ANY of the multiples of coins that were in exchange for a single coin, That is acceptable for this swap, they must update the listing in the box and keep a copy of the updated listing with them.

3. YOU WILL PM ME WHEN THE BOX ARRIVES AND WHEN IT DEPARTS. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!

4. Please remember that like the forum swaps, this is not a place to get rid of junk coins nor mangled coins. Holey coins will be allowed but only if dated prior to 1900.

5. MOST IMPORTANTLY: BOX WILL BE SHIPPED USPS AND INSURED FOR DECLARED AMOUNT! You will update the tag posting here with the tracking number.

This tag will be for 5 members. First 5 to pm me with their contact information will be in this tag. Coins will be initially valued from $30-$50 with box content to not exceed $300.

I will post here this evening with the contents of the box as I will be sending it.

Sounds fun, I would be interested in this one but I have a couple of questions.

Rule 2: Please explain the reasons for having to take the whole group instead of just the ones you want? If I really wanted 2 (out of 9) dimes I wouldn't be willing to take all 9 but taking the 2 I want would also leave a variety in there.

What if there's absolutely nothing you want in the box (which I doubt will happen but just in case) can you pass?

Are 1964 coins allowed or not?

It appears that raw or slabbed is acceptable, is that correct?

    PM forthcoming with personal info.

    Thanks,
    Millertime

    Some good questions there Millertime:

Since thinking about rule #2....I am not allowing "current/modern"....we can go ahead just disregard that ruling.

Hmmm....Then the person who is the recipient of the box would have to post back here and have a group voting..but I don't think that it would occur as most would not sign up for the tag if they weren't interested in collecting something different or new.

    No 1964 please.

    Raw and/or slabbed is acceptable.

Hope this helps. I will remove the 2nd rule under my set.

    Thanks!

If you're near the bottom of the list it could be 2-3 weeks before it's your turn. Dang, I just remembered I will be out of town (Scout Camp with my son) from August 7th to the 12th. If this gets going soon and I'm near the top and ajia is near the bottom maybe it would still work. What do you think?

Sorry, but you will not be allowed to participate in this tag. Had you read the rules, #1 in my rules stipulates:

    1. You must have completed a minimum of 2 swaps in this forum and they must have been successful

I can't even see where you have ever created a thread, but you have entered almost every giveaway and freebie that there was in the last year.
Also, I won't get buy-off from any participants who will be required to ship overseas.....it is time consuming, requires customs forms, additional costs....etc....

Participate in some threads that don't involve free things (other than free knowledge or humor), join a couple of swaps and then we will reconsider.

    Thanks,
    Earl

  • I give up! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! I've asked several times since I've joined the forums about coin tags and no one ever responded. Then I ask and don't think anybody is really interested again and it takes off. Oh well, I guess there is always next time.
