Novice Question

So I just got my initial package from PSA upon joining the Collectors Club and I'm all excited to start breaking out the magniifying glass and pumping them with submissions. My only question is in regard to the post-1997 Autographed card submissions. Am I correct in my interpretation that any autographed card (for instance, a 1998 Bowman Chrome David Wright Auto RC) has to be submitted at the standard $20 fee and 20 business day turn around, no exceptions?

I'm aware that I cannot submit autos using my voucher but intended to send in two packages. Which leads me to a second question, do you find it a smoother and quicker transaction if you send in different types of service in separate packages or together with the highest type of service marked on the box?

Thanks for the help folks. Much appreciated.

Xanadu: My understanding is that all post-1997 cards that were autographed and inserted into packs as certified autographs can be included on a regular submission.

The only ones that cannot are a) cards that were *not* autographed directly from the manufacturer 1998 and later, and b) autographed cards issued from the manufacturer, but before 1998.

So I think you can combine your voucher with the autographs. That said - I didn't think David Wright had a 1998 Bowman Chrome card...?
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
  • Oops, brain fart.

The reason I ask is because it clearly states "Excludes autographed cards." under the Regular and Modern types of service. So they're referring to non-manufacturer originated cards?

They are referring to any pre-1998 manufacturer cards or In-Person autographed cards.

Any card from a manufacturer 1998+ is ok to submit as long as it meets other criteria. (ie. max value, sport, type etc)

An In-Person/TTM or other, non-manufacturer issued autographed card is going to need PSA/DNA first. (the $20 submission you are referring to)

and MS is correct, Wright's bowman chrome rc auto is from 2002. Which by the way can be submitted on the $13/5 day special. Just do it before the BV jumps over $500.

    Hope that helps.

I used my voucher for an autographed card. It was after 1998 and a crappy sticker card but it was accepted.
  • Yeah, I swear I knew Wright's Bowman Chrome auto was '02, just scrambling to get the message down.

That changes everything. I was going to just have stuff graded that I could turn around and sell but now I'm definitely doing some personal keeper stuff. Thanks guys.
