Silly question about collectors club

I joined about a year ago, so I have to renew my membership soon (platinum, I believe they are annual). Question is: Is the renewal cost the same, $199 per year, and do you get another 8 free submissions? If not, then why not just get a gold membership for half the price and get the same benefits?

I am asking here and not customer service, I figured I'd get a more accurate response in 1/1000th the time.

    Yes, Platinum renewal is still $199 and you get the eight freebies. No freebies at any other level.
