Storage for coin collections

How do you guys store your coins? All I have is a cardboard box. Are there any special boxes for them?

Sure....there are all kinds of 2x2 cardboard boxes. They fit nicely in the safe deposit box too. If your coins are slabbed, there are plastic boxes for them also.

Or Albums made by Dansco, or folders. And I have a nice little black album that you can put 2X2s in.

Don't store them. Spend them to keep the economy going. Or pour a layer of liquid plastic out on a cooking platter, lay all your coins on that, allow to start to harden, pour another layer over the coins.
Just joking. This question comes up as frequently as how to clean coins. There are as many ways to store coins as there are collectors. Easy way is to buy lots of 2x2's or 1-1/2x1-1/2 cardboard flips, get a 3 ringed notebook, get plastic pages with slots for the flips and just put every thing in there. All these items can be purchased on numerous coin web sites, ebay, coin stores, etc. Other methods are Dansco or Whitman coin Albums. Littleton also but everyone kind of hates that company lately. Then there are plastic boxes, cardboard boxes, plastic coin rolls and on and on and on.
Many people will tell you no matter what get lots of those gel packs that absorb moisture to keep moisture away from your coins. That used to be a nice thing but since that was first tried there are these things nowadays called dehumidfiers. They are electric and take hundreds of times more moisture out of the air.

Yes, I use a special box called a "safety deposit box" for the expensive stuff. Otherwise there are plenty of slab, 2x2 or better yet, 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 boxes out there. I recently switched to the 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 coin flips to maximize my storage area. It saved a ton of space but doesn't work well for halves or dollars.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.
