New purchase-what do you think?

raycycaraycyca Posts: 1,695 ✭✭✭
Here's what I recently purchased. It's reported to be Unc and was only $40. What do you think? I'm NOT a commemorative guy. So far I only have two and they're for my type set. One's an MS 70 West Point that I made. Thanks in advance! Ray imageimage

Charming look that really speaks "commemorative". I like it.

THANKS! He also had this barber, which I thougt was pretty and bought it. As SOON as I het the BUY button, I noticed the bottom of the rim on the back of the coin. Would this keep it out of a PCGS holder? Looks like a nice XF 40/45 to me otherwise. Thanks again in advance! Ray
PS: this one was $65. If it doesn't slab, it will look nice in my Dansco. imageimage

Very nice columbian half. I did the same thing a few months back. I found a very original '83 with deep toning similar to yours. I paid $35. Sent it to PCGS and it came back MS64. It should have went MS65. I like yours a lot.

That ding in the Barber is pretty bad. It might body bag. Put it in a Dansco 7070.

The Columbus Half is really very nice! I love the subtle toning throughout. Just enough to be pretty yet not overpowering.

    Nice!

With that color (and if it's UNC) you got a decent deal.

Very nice commem image, I'd bet the barber will not grade but not because of the rim ding image.

The Columbian looks to me to be AU. The quarter's toning is questionable and the rim nick is a major negative.

  • I doubt the Barber will grade, it appears to have been cleaned at one point in it's life. The Columbian is a beaut!image

The Barber was a mistake. Sell it ASAP or return it. No sense keeping it around. It will only bother you.
