Russ: Wasn't PCGS around a 5% grade through rate for MS70 Buffalos? Unless I am mistaken, last I noticed, NGC was around a 70% graded MS70 Buffalos and around 30% MS69's, but that was more than a week ago, so that figure may have changed. If anyone has the MS69 and MS70 Buffalo figures for the (2) companies, I would be interested in comparing them.

I've seen three NGC MS70's and I would not have graded them MS70.
This is just my opinion, but if you buy a NGC MS70 and are expecting a perfect coin, your going to be disappointed.
As for 383, just think of all the coins sent in. It had to be thousands. The MS69 pop is 7820. So 5% of the coins graded 69 or higher are 70. Then put in all the ones to beat up to be sent in or were 68's or lower. AND there had to be a LARGE influx of coins that will certainly diminish. 383 at this point might be pretty low.
I'm guessing that it will be 99999 and that it will show up tomorrow when the pop report is updated.
Anyway, here's the breakdown:
9999 - Mint State pop report is showing one graded VG/VF and that's it. 89999 - Mint State First Strike 4.669% are MS70 99990 - Proof First Strike - 8 in 69 and 2 in PR70 (20% graded 70)

Same thing is true of many PCGS MS70's.

That's almost as many as there are threads about the Gold Buffalos.

Hmm, odd. The cert no. is not in the database and PCGS seems to have used the mint state coin number on the flip. Doctored photo? Yes?

It's freshly show graded. The database won't be updated until they get back. The number on the insert is the number for the non FS coins.
Edited to add: It looks like PCGS has the database screwed up as that number should be for the proofs.

MS - 9999
MS First Strike - 89999
PR - ?????
PR First Strike - 99990

That has to be a screwup.

Apparently they're pretty common.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...

Well this is a big surprise!
I suspect if all 383 MS70 Gold Buffalos were cracked out and resubmitted, most of them would come back 69.
Why all the hype?
Curious mind wants to know.

Huh? What then????

Apparently he's an honorable Ebay seller with a perfect rating, who suddenly and mysteriously died in a fire.
