If you folks take a look at the coin forum thread
entitled " BEHOLD! The plastic mountain!," you
will get just a tiny idea of what "crack'n resub"
really means.

Aren't coins a whole lot more expensive to submit than cards?
Collector of Pittsburgh Pirates cards for a slightly less stupid reason.

Will they resubmit hoping for a better grade?

I've resubmitted a few, crossed some, but the majority were simply liberated.

Smashing slabs is an excellent stress reliever.

Card grading standards are largely only REALLY subjective
at the higher ends of the 1 through 10 scale.
Coin grading standards run from 1 through 70. A lot more
room for "subjectivity," means a lot better chance of an
upgrade. As you can see from the piles of plastic, MANY
of today's MS67s were yesterday's MS65s, etc. The profits
are HUGE, and the "wealth creators" get a small piece of
the profits through grading-fees.
Unless I could "steal it," I would not touch a high-grade
coin in today's TPG-market.
Cards are going to be moving in the same direction. Many
folks will dump their 10s, resub their 9s, and start the
path to the next phase of "market grading."
