What are your rarest coins

What rare coins do you have, that's rare in mintage not rare in condition.

I'll kick this off with some of mine.

1934 George V wreath Crown, mintage 932

1935 George V Crown, circulation type with edge errors. Davies quote 3-4 pieces, seem a bit of an under estimate too me.

1923 George V Florin with Obverse 2, the only reference I've seen for this is "very rare" . If anyone has any more info about this coin I'd very pleased to hear.

Yes, the 1935 proof crown with edge garbling probably is closer to 11-20 pieces and possibly higher. Still nice coins. No doubt you have seen the boom in 1934 wreaths as it is rumoured that somebody(ies) is attempting to corner the market; condition is everything in a sense although the grading services are not directly involved.

Sold one of them PCGS64 last year for a ridiculously low price although full Spink at the time plus 250 pounds but fortunately have backup - that coin is probably worth 50% more in just one year!

Just wondering about the 1935 Proof Crown, Are you refering to KM#842 or KM#842a? Also what about KM#857, 1937 Frosted Cameo Relief, I think i have a shot at one....... What would it's value be? I'll try to get a pic of it....

    Thank's, ozzysdad....

Mine is the circulation piece with the missing and misplaced lettering. Not the proof with the collar assembled in the wrong order.

I had a 1937 frosted VIP but it looked as if it had been dipped so I returned it. The 37, 51, 53,60 & 65 VIPs are on my want list.

Missing edge lettering in what condition? A mint state would be nice!!!

Value of the 1937 proof you have to be careful on as there was a recent either Heritage or Goldberg that had two offered on sale listed as proof 66 and proof 67 cameo certified ?NGC? I think: these went for about 6-800 USD is my recollection.

I do NOT think they were VIP, and the key was the loss of frosting into the neck detail esp. although there were a few other areas. So they were nice and generally cameo but in my opinion not worth the prices fetched.

A true VIP is likely worth about the 800 USD that the most expensive piece reached, the bottom line message is to be careful about these and zing them for being dipped!

Official mintage for the 1894 rouble is 3,007 pieces, but there seems to be too many floating around for a restrike not to have occurred sometime since then.

    Preussen:

When I owned it and bought it raw from Dirk Löbbers, it was the only one that he had seen. I rec'd it at the Baltimore ANA and had it slabbed on the one day service at PCGS and then showed it to Karl Stephens, Ron Guth, Jeff Zarit, Wolfgang Meirer and several other dealers and they told me that it was the only one that they knew of in proofimage Since this was several years ago, I still have not seen or heard of another one.3Mark
I'm traveling on memory and running out of fuel.
