Wow, baseballs cost $11 now? They were like $7 in the '90s.

  • Not bad at all. The only problem I see is that these items have not been authenticated by either psa/dna or JSA. Without a doubt, I would get the top autographs authenticated before I would attempt to sell them. I'm sure that I'm not the only person on ebay who won't touch an autograph unless it has been authenticated and don't believe in 100% guarantees.

On a side note, it looks like you already have some of the top autographs listed. Since you have them listed in your store with a fixed price, all you need is one bid to do well. Good luck.

As an aside, I have a 1958 Yankee team ball auto'ed. How do I get this authenticated by PSA - it doesn't look like they do team balls...

Without a doubt I would get that ball authenticated. I know psa/dna authenticates multi player and team signed baseballs (I have a handful in my collection). Take a look on their site for the details......the last time I had a multi signed item authenticated I believe they charged me one fee for the top autograph (most expensive) and a set fee per additional player (however, it may be different now).
    Congrats.

Rich, that sounds like it would be $300-400 to authenticate the ball. I looked on the website and couldn't find anything. Obviously, the top star is Mantle on the ball.

I can't see the ball being worth more than $1500 or $2k; almost silly to authenticate it, although I know I might need that if I'm going to sell it. Which I should, because I don't like the Yankees.

From what I can tell here, http://www.psadna.com/fees.chtml , it would run $250 for authentication and grading. I think. $150 for the authentication and $100 for grading.

Not bad, I guess. I sure wish PSA came to Florida. I'd much rather drop it off at a show then send it out.

It shouldn't cost you that much to get the team ball authenticated. I'm not positive on PSA/DNA prices, but I had a 1961 Yankees team ball authenticated by JSA and it was 100.00. I would email/call either JSA or PSA/DNA to get a price from them.

It sounds like it would be well worth the price of getting it authenticated.....esepcially if you're expecting to get fair value for the ball (which anyone in their right mind would). I would love to see a scan.

and in response to the original post... I just found the one line in your auctions a little funny...

"... all from my private collection."

Considering you just bought this collection and are putting them up on ebay right away... wouldn't that be more your inventory then your private collection?

If Mantle was the "premier" signature on your ball and there were less than 20 signatures the fee would be as follows:

Authentication: $100.00 ($150.00 if 20 or more signatures)
    Grading: $100.00
Total: $200.00 ($250.00 if 20 or more signatures)
