Another question:

I have a 1945 1/12 Shilling from Jersey here but with Elizabeth II on the Obverse yet the coins on Ebay are with George VI on the obverse.
Were there two types minted in 1945 - one with George VI and one with Elizabeth ? It seems so but could I please receive a concrete answer as to what happenend ?
TIA

ummm, Elizabeth, daughter of George VI, did not become Queen until her father died in 1952. Before that, she was merely Princess Elizabeth (Heir Apparent). Not until she was coronated in 1953 did she officially take the title of Elizabeth II
Are you sure your coin is dated 1945??
I'm afraid to be alive without being aware of it

So the date commemorates when they were liberated, not the year the coin was struck. Why would they do that? I guess they were really happy to be liberated!
Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius, "Meditations"
Apparently I have been awarded one DPOTD.
