Another one in NEN's inventory that eventually got to me...

Newfie 5c, 1945-C. NGC MS65. Described as "white and prooflike."

I remember looking at this one when they first got it, and I thought to myself that given what I know about their photography, I bet it looks phenomenal in hand.

Each week I just assumed it would be gone. Finally today, I got pissed off, and bought it for 20% off ($135). That's extremely high according to Krause ($32 in MS63), but low compared to Charlton (C$250 in MS65), even taking into account the currency conversion. I know that Charlton is, shall we say, "optimistic" when it comes to Canadian pricing, but I have a feeling this could be darned near a proof in appearance.

Krause lists a "prooflike" for 1946 and 1947, but not 1945. Charlton doesn't list any prooflikes for any date. ???

Whaddayathink? Potential, or did I screw the pooch?
