1979 3-pack RACK online rip...

gregm13 had this rack for sale here on the boards...seeing that I have nothing better to do before the wedding next week..I figured it would be fun to buy it and do and online rip!!

So...for all those who care....on with pack #1:

No major stars..alot of OC....one card #560 Montefusco looks to be a 9..with a shot at a 10....

Pack #2...

Gary Carter..the only star...not too many centered here either.

Pack #3...no majors again....Kingman..Dock Ellis and Roland Office were sharp...

    Any Marc Hill (Card #11)? A smudgeless PSA 9 Hill is supposed to be the "Holy Grail" of this set.

    No there wasn't....but thanks for the heads up!!
    I have 1500 cards packed for my San Fran trip next week...and I KNOW there were 4-5 of those cards in there...I'll have to look...lol

    No problem. If you look at the Pop Report, there has never been a Hill graded higher than a PSA 8 because of a smudge in the bottom portion of the card near his name. I think it is, perhaps, the only card in that set not to have a PSA 9 example.

    Actually, now that I look at the Pop Report, there is only one Hill that has ever been submitted to PSA. It recorded a PSA 8 grade.

    I'm sitting on a '79 3 pak rack (well, not actually sitting on it, but)....I've had it for years and I haven't ripped it for the same reason - I would expect to find a ton of off center cards. However, maybe you got the o/c one....

    yup..90% OC....but hey...worthe the price of admission.

    Spent the night yammering with Mike from Strictlymint..he's in town for and vacation and my wedding. It's 12:50 am....and we are just leaving my store...
