I would sell it as a pack.

Someone said that they could get wax off via panthose, right? I think another person said by freezing it?

Looking for Jonny Gomes cards, especially Triple Threads and printing plates. Will consider all cards, though. Got something? Contact me at c_u_l_1@yahoo.com
  • I've used dress socks!

    Works like a charm.

Of course, be very careful of corners. Might be tough with rough-cut OPCs.
  • Well half way through and i can't believe this box i should get lots of 9's for my set the stars are a little offcenter but ive pulled some blazer commons. half way through pulled 3 nice oc ryans 1 murray 3 roses and a murray still on the back of a pack. i'm tempted to to keep the other half of the box sealed . how much more could i pull.

Pantyhose works on the fronts. But on the back, since there is no gloss it typically does not work as there is a stain once the wax is rubbed off. So I've heard image

  • You can get wax off the back of a card using a little bit of bestine and some heat (like putting the back of the card close to a light bulb). Did this with a bunch of cards from the 60's, worked beautifully.
  • Thanks zef well the results are in the panty hose worked i did about three commons and with a little patientce it seems it works. i used my loop on them and dont see no evidence of wax but the first one i did showed evidence of surface scratches under a loop. so i tried her micro fiber panty hose (which she do'nt know yet) and on the second 2 attempts no wax no surface scrathces . Thats why i love these forums i learned something new today
thanks guys. Now i'll open the other pack and grab out that 2nd murray and see if we can get the wax off and grade that sucker
  • Oh and i decided to open the other half of the box in the morning hope i get more good stuff

based on the centering of your other cards , I would keep the murray as a pack and you should do better that way if the card is oc , if it's centered , it is probably a zero sum game

Would pay nicely for a 1978 OPC Schmidt PSA 10 if you happen to be so lucky...

Glad you are happy with your results so far!
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

  • well i started rippin the 2nd half this morning you got to check out this brock the corners are razor sharp and it doesnt even have a rough edge. if this one dont get a 10 the grader has to be blind. First time i've seen a 78 opc without some sort of rough edge
  • What would the Murray Grade
  • Nice Brock. It does appear to be diamond cut slightly that might be enough to knock it out of a 10

I'd be interested in starting a raw set. I already have around 30 or 40.
Let me know what you'd be looking for in return.
I'll be out of town quite a bit the next two weeks, but we can work something out.

    Thanks
