Can anyone tell me what this is?

Hi

A friend of mine wanted me to scan this and see if anyone can tell us what it is. There's 5 mini-sized cards together. They are Pickles Dilhoefer, Christy Mathewson, Ira Wingo, Fred Merkle, and Frank Baker. The cards are numbered 71-75. The backs are completely blank. If anyone can tell us what this is, what company produced it, or about how much it might be worth, we'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

Jeff

    Hi Jeff,
That strip is cataloged as W514 Strip Cards issued between 1919-1921. The Mathewson is valued around $400.00 and the Baker around $125.00. the others about $50.00 each.
    Good Luck,

If he ends up cutting the strip (I wouldn't) and selling it off, I'd be interested in the merkle. Don't cut it for me, but if somebody wants the Matty card just keep me in mind. thanks

  • There's no way I could ever cut those up.image
Everything I write is my opinion.

    Looking for alot of crap.
  • Thank you so much for your help. I really appreciate you letting us know what these are. I was completely unfamiliar with them, as I often am with real vintage cards. I see PSA does grade these as hand cuts. I'm assuming it'd be smartest to leave them together as they are to achieve the max. value. They are in pretty nice shape. No creases or stains and nice edges. I'll ask my friend whether he has any interest in selling them.

    Thanks again
