Archibald Rookie Card

Any basketball collectors know why this card is so hard to find centered. The SMR is not even close on this one for price.

Not sure why, but you can expect to pay $150-$200 for an 8. I have seen many with print dots in the orange background.
  • I bought a regular well centered copy for under 5.00 a few months back. I collect HOF rookies as well and the one I found had his name misspelled and besides the corners it's a real beaut. Definetly a good deal imo.

  • As is the case with most of the cards from this era, it probably has to do with the placement of his card on the uncut sheet. image

He's not in a corner but in the last column, imho the last row of cards with Lew A. and the big O are alot harder to find centered than any other cards. There are 63 qualified PSA 8 Alincdor cards, I bet most of them were o/c top to bottom.

Archibald has two tough/Low Pop cards the 71 card mentioned and just as tough and also way out of whack with the listed SMR the 1973 #1 card This card has no 10's,1-9 and maybe 9 or 10 -8's. Tough.

Did anyone track the '71 Alcindor PSA 10 that sold on ebay a week or two ago?

    A good buy at $4,250?

I did a double take when I saw that card. I don't think the grading company is legit

Talk about trimming, lol. The thing I find funny is that even with the 4 sided razor job, the edges and corners still didn't rate 10's. Good thing WCSports didn't send his stuff to them, they don't give 10's.
  • Wow. Wheres the rest of the card?
