Coins to sell

Hello All,
I have just recently registered. I have several (13) PCGS rated coins to sell and thought I would start here. I am not a collector, expert or anything of the sort. Have these coins which I have had since 1989 - long story. I have just researched them at the PCGS site for current pricing, but I don't know if the price listed there is buy, sell or wholesale or dealer, etc.
I won't list them here now, in case this is not the place, I don't want to offend anyone. I do have them in a spreadsheet that I could post later if appropriate.
I also have noticed that others have posted sales and there has been some trouble with the deal. I am not sure how the transaction would take place and how to keep it safe, but I am open for suggestions on that as well.
I would even be open to a local coin dealer, if I knew of any reputable ones.

Thanks for any help,
Glenn

It's ok to post coins for sale on this BST forum.
Rule is basically to keep multiple offers to one thread.

  • Welcome to the forums Glenn!

This is the right place to list your coins. The PCGS price guide is often too high but sometimes it isn't. You can search the Heritage auction archives and/or eBay completed auctions to see what people are paying for similar coins.

If you send coins to a reputable dealer they will send the money. If you are not sure who you are doing business with you may ask for the money up front and then ship the coin when you get the check cashed. But don't spend the money for a few days in case the buyer doesn't like the coin he may want to return it for a refund.
  • Well, that was fast. Thank you both for your quick response. Guess I will get my list and post it. I suspected the PCGS price was high. I will post the list, with the pcgs prices, and see what comes of it.
    Thank you again.

  • tgilliams,

The coin grades from PCGS are there. The formatting is a little skewed in the message. Reading the first one,

    1 7118 1880-S Morgan Dollar MS 65 $230.00

It is item 1, PCGS #, year, description, grade, PSGS price listing.

    Sorry for the confusion.

    Thanks,
    Glenn.
