Procrastinators that literally sent their May/June submission out on 6/30

Anyone get their grades back yet?
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

I sent mine out on 6/30 also. They were entered on 7/6. Still waiting...I'm sure it's gonna take a little while...
  • Sent mine on the 30th, they were just entered yesterday. Could it really have taken almost two weeks for USPS to get them 400 miles?
    Always buying 1984 Ralston Purina PSA 9s and 10s I NEED 19,21, and 29!!!
  • If they were sent registered then it is possible. Registered sometimes moves slower through the channels.
Then again I had a priority package going 110 miles away take 2 weeks a couple of week ago.

It wasn't for the special, but I sent mine on the afternoon of the 6th and both orders were entered in the 7th right after lunchtime. Don't know who I"m more impressed with, PSA or the USPS.

I just had my early June submission, which PSA sent out on the 23rd back to me, come in yesterday.

mailed submissions out on 6/30 by priority mail. They were entered in on 7/6. Not too bad, considering the 4th of July was in there.

Good luck to everyone with their grades!

Sent mine on 30 June, logged by PSA July 3rd, got the grades yesterday 10 July. And that was the $5 special. I had a $13- 5 business sub in the same box, and i got those grades back on 7 July.

Turnaround time for my subs to be logged has been 7-10 days. Once logged, I would have the grades in less than 2 weeks and once had them in 5 days. Sent in a sub on the 30th, it was logged on the 7th, now the waiting game continues - maybe I'll get them back by the end of the month. Overall, I am very happy with the turnaround time from PSA - not so happy with some of the results, but I can't complain about how long it is taking.

Have you called them about the June 7th one? Considering most of the turnaround times, PSA has been rather quick on this special. Wouldn't hurt to call and make sure that sub wasn't banished to the problem pile.

Mine was rec'd by them on 6/30. Nothing yet.
  • I have two submissions, one sent 6-2 and logged 6-8 and one sent 6-30 and logged yesterday. What are people's thoughts on how much the make-up of a submission impacts the grading time? Is it best to stick with a single sport for each submission? Even further, are grading times generally shorter with similar cards (same year, or same card even)? Thoughts?

I have wondered about this myself. Is there any benefits (turnaround wise) to putting the same sport in a submission or even the same year? I would also like to know if anyone has an opinion.
  • envoy98envoy98 Posts: 4,000 ✭✭
I think if you have more mainstream issues, the cards are graded faster. Less research and expertise has to be done on them. I can say that I've sent in submissions consisting of 80-100 cards that ranged from 71 Topps Football, to 81 OPC hockey to 05 Bowman Chrome baseball and I have gotten those subs back in <5 days. I've done others that were 4 or 5 modern football or baseball and it's taken 30+.

I don't know if it really makes that much of a difference.

Luck of the draw I suspect.

No oddballs on the above submission, just 50 common 80's and 90's Topps Angels.

Also sent this in a month later:

This one had 30 misc late 60's to early 70s cards.

Called last week about it to make sure there were no problem with 5/31 sub but was told everything is ok. I don't get it.image

I sent my first ever sub on the 30th, with some 71 topps and some 71 topps football and a couple oddballs. First timer forgot to write anything at all on the box.

They got it 7/8, no email yet and doesn't show on the website so I called. Told him I forgot to write on the box, "oh, boy. might be a while"

    lesson learned.

  • envoy98envoy98 Posts: 4,000 ✭✭
I did that once, but I told them what the box looked like and they found it for me, it was entered the next day.

I just called about my sub and was told it's not even in grading yet...that sucks. I guess I can stop checking anymore today. image

I wonder if the graders are collectors as well. If so, I know that if I was a grader, I'd have more fun grading a stack of late 60s and early 70s stuff than a stack of 80s Topps cards. image

Of course, I've got a bunch of 80s and 90s stuff in my sub, so it's probably not the most interesting stack to look at. I just hope that my Mothers Cookies cards aren't TOO "odd-ball"ish....

    edit..

Hmm, judging by the pop reports, they might be....

I mentioned it in another thread but will pass it along here as well. My submission took 17 days. Reason being was an issue with new procedures implemented by the Post Office out in Cali. East Coasters are taking as many as 9 business days to get their orders.

I sent in a lot of 32 cards on 6/30. They were logged in on 7/6 - and the grades popped on 7/10. Very pleased with the turnaround - a little disappointed (as usual) with the grades. Quoting from the title of one of my favorit books - "Hope is Not a Strategy."
  • smaller order (80 cards) was logged for me on 7/7.....the large order (1015) was logged yesterday.

Praying for awesome grades on the large lot....tons of Jordan, Kobe, Shaq, Duncan, Iverson....and more inserts and parallels than you can choke a horse with!! Not to mention new football shiney and bright slag.....lol

Yeah, that's definitely not true. My stuff was logged 6/30 and my cc was charged on 6/30, I called yesterday and my stuff wasn't even in grading yet. So there is no correllation unfortunately.

We should make a fun bet- whether your order or mine (a 100 card sub. that was entered on 6/7) is graded first. I'll bet you yours will come up before mine.

I'm putting the O/U on mine at around 7/28.
