BVG vs PSA

How do the BVG graded cards compare with the PSA grades? I haven't sent any cards to PSA yet but about 3 years ago I did get several cards graded by BVG. These were all 50s and 60s star cards including several Mantles. The first batch was 11 cards that I thought would grade 7 or higher. I have since sold the cards but if I remember correctly, I got one 8.5, seven 8s and three 7.5s. I send in a second batch but don't remember how many cards there were. I still have some of these cards because I want to submit them to PSA. The thing that I don't like about the BVG grading is your final grade can only be 1/2 point about the lowest subgrade. I have a '53 Bowman PeeWee Reese with three 8s and a 5 so the final grade is a 5.5. My 54 Bowman Mantle would have been a 7 if it weren't for the 4 I got on centering. BVG really kills you on centering. How would these cards do if submitted to PSA? I have busted 2 of the lesser expensive cards out of the holders but haven't gotten the nerve to bust the expensive cards yet. I had one card come back as evidence of recoloring and one come back as being trimmed. I swear I can't find anything wrong with either card. If I get them busted out, I will scan the cards and post pictures here. My scanner doesn't scan slabbed cards very good.

ie. On your Mantle you'll probably get a 7(OC), the Reese could be a (PD), (MC) or (ST) depending on the area of the 5 sub-grade.
Even though PSA doesn't use subgrades, the same standards still apply. A card isn't going to be a higher grade without the merits being higher. Heck, my PSA 4 Namath rc would have been a 7 if not for the small stain on the front.
