1916-d 10c, is it authentic?

I had this in my collection from years ago, purchased from a trusted soul. But... I was going through my collection and wondered what the hallmarks were for authentication of a real 1916-d were. So, do you think this is an authentid 16-d?

Sorry, forgot I had the pics linked and I deleted them...

great pictures by the way, I'd go AG-3.
So is there a mintmark or not? I don't see it!

I do. You can just about make out the top of the D. Look a little bit harder Greg.
<< <i>I am no expert, but I will go out on a limb and say it looks legit to me based on the mint mark's shape and wear.

Thanks, yes I think it is the correct shape too, but since this is one of the most counterfeited coins out there, I guess I am just a little paranoid. It's going off to PCGS today anyway. I think it is a nice original AG-3. Really if I were keeping it, I would just leave it in my collection. But, I want to sell it, and don't want to sell someone an altered coin -- I could live without that headache!
<< <i>That could very well be authentic, the shape looks correct for what's left of the MM, but I would send it to a TPG service to be sure. Additionally, it's an FR2 not an AG3. >>
Steve, why do you think FR-2? I'll admit I am not fluent in grading these low grade dimes, and would like to know what you see that I don't.
Thanks.
Just search Heritage/Ebay sales of these, there's tons of AG dimes that sell on a regular basis, they do generally look considerably better.

That doesn't confirm it's real, because PCGS doesn't guarantee authenticity if they see smoething else first. This question was asked of David Hall at one of his Q & A sessions a few years ago.
