I'd probably pass on a card without a good scan. You may want to think about a PSA graded Mays (a nice 3 or 4). You won't pay much more than a raw one, and you'll know it isn't counterfeit or altered in any way. Better resale too.

I think the guy's legit, he has good feedback and he's done business recently. He probably hasn't sold any cards before. As for the picture being blurry, I'm guessing that like a million other ebayers he's too smart to read the manual that came with his camera, so he's too smart to click the little icon for closeups. I see so many pics on ebay where it's obvious the seller never learned how to use the camera, or the scanner (very small card on a big background).
Kuhlman if you email him and tell him how to use the camera to get better pics, it solves 2 problems. You get better pictures and you can tell for sure that he really has the card. On most cameras tell him to get it outside in the daylight, if he wants he can put it on the hood of his car on a colored t-shirt, get his camera about a foot or less from the card, and click on the little icon that looks like a flower. Tell him he doesn't need the flash, and the image should get clear in his viewfinder.
He's not selling 92 donruss commons, he's selling big $ cards, so he should appreciate the help and be willing to spend the 15 minutes to get you some pics. If he isn't willing I would move on. The Mays cards aren't 1/1s, there's others out there.

The bad scan gives me the creeps.
Plus, I find it interesting that there is a reserve - the seller has no other cards for sale.
That's a photo I believe - so if you ask for a scan - they will probably decline.
I agree with looking for a nice graded one.

Red flag? Not sure.
