Has quietly put together an outstanding first half of the season. His BA is a bit low (.256), but 18 bombs and 50 RBI in 60 games.
His career HR total now at 554, moving him to 11th ahead of Schmidt on the all time list. Reggie is 8 ahead, Raffy is 14 ahead, Killer is 18 ahead. He could very well pass all of them this year, and eye 600 next year *if* he stays healthy.
He's one of the true good guys in the game....I am happy to see him having a healthy and productive year.

The good news is that he's still only 36 years old and has been relatively healthy the last two seasons, so if he can stay off the DL I think he'll still have a shot at 700 homers anyway.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.

<< <i>It really is a shame he lost so much playing time due to injuries he would be right up there in #'s. Did he change his number from 30 to 3? Whats up with that? >>
I think he changed this offseason to honor his son. I think it's his little league number.
and i agree if griffey gets close it will be much more hyped then juice boy bonds
