New thread! lets try and keep this one on topic???

pelfrey looked wild at times but you can tell he has the goods to be a big time pitcher! maybe not right now.. who knows september he might be fine. let me add he throws very hard!

what i love about this mets team. get beat and come back storming 17-3!! still 12 game lead. either willie is really dumb? or really smart?

bc i have not seen our normal lineup in 2 weeks.. he is resting everyone! mets should come out storming 2nd half!

henry owens looks awesome! kid has some real gas! i mean real fast!

weird when you see a radar gun say 96-99 mph but your like it doesnt look that fast! but owens man his sh$t looks that fast and then some!

anyone worried about the best leadoff hitter in baseball he is fine he just cut his pinky so willie is resting him! he will be back friday!

ohh yeah still 12 games in front LOL DARN ITS GOOD TO BE A METS FAN! HECK LET ME ADD ITS GONNA BE GOOD TO BE A COWBOYS FAN ALSO!

The Mets are defintely solid, especially on offense, but you have to admit they are really benefitting because the Braves and Phils are really struggling this year. I'd be surprised if any team other than the Mets finishes above .500 in the NL East this year. Right now, the Mets could go 38-36 the rest of the way to finish with 90 wins, and the Phils would have to go 51-25 to tie them.. Don't see that happening in Philly so the Shea faithful can start making October plans right now, I dare say.

The nice thing about this Mets team is that they are playing real well as a group, with young kids like Pelfry, Owens, Milledge, Wright, Reyes, etc, stepping up, and veteran players like Glavine, Franco, Trachsel, Floyd, Beltran, and Martinez, too. The chemistry on this team is better than it's been since the Valentine years, and maybe more so. Randolph is not as charasmatic as Valentine, but you gotta give him his due. As a young, first time manager, he's done a whale of a job.
