Another cracked holder problem

I received a card in a cracked holder in the mail today. It's quite noticable, but I don't think the card is in any danger of damage. I didn't have the card insured (the guy didn't offer it as part of his service), so that avenue is out.

I'm not a Collector's Club member, I just buy PSA cards on eBay. Having said that, is there any option for me to have the card re-slabbed by PSA?

  • i just shipped out a 1985 topps chris bahr psa 9 that i had to give a refund on because it was cracked in transit.. it happens, thankfully it's semi-rare.
  • I would still tell the seller about the problem and see if he can remedy the situation. Was it shipped well protected? Or was it tossed in a standard envelope and run through the machines?
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

It was a pretty standard Bubble lite 000. I've gotten about a dozen cards in envelopes just like it with no problem at all. In fact, the guy put an extra little swatch of loose bubble wrap in, but it still got munched.

The seller is responsible in getting the item to the buyer in the same condition it was sold. With this said, as a seller myself I make insurance manditory (especially on higher end items) which protects me and NOT the buyer. When I'm the buyer, I'll very rarely "buy insurance" because the responsibility falls on the seller to get my item to me in good condition. If I was you, I would be all over the seller!
The bottom line is......Insurance protects the seller and not the buyer.

At the very least, you should tell the seller.
He may or may not "help you," but you
might save some other folks from getting
broken slabs if the seller is not aware that
he should put HEAVY cardboard around the
slab b4 he puts it in the bubble envelope.

Rich is right. The seller is RESPONSIBLE to
get your item to you "safely," NO MATTER
what kind of nonsense disclaimer is in the
    listing.

If you used PayPal on this deal, you might
tell them about your situation, if the seller
does not want to help you.
