Off to NCS (Updated Sept 1)

A relatively rare 1942 NZ 6d off to NCS. Looks pretty nice under the crap. Wish me luck!

It looks like they did a pretty good job on them. How do the surfaces look in hand?

Looks like they did a great job on the first one.

Wow, the picture of the 6d looks great. I think I will wait to the next show and drop off an EF 1844 Brit farthing that has resisted my mild cleaning efforts - anybody have an idea how they are on the probably more difficult bronze, and what do they charge?

All mine has is some resistant dirt plus a little oil and no corrosion.

As an afterthought, how is the NZ market these days? I bought a few bits some years ago and had nearly forgotten about them.

Just out of curiosity, how long was the process from start to finish? I've got 2 coins in with them now that they've had for 3+ weeks...

Won't see them in hand for a while, as I'm out of the country.

They charge 2% of declared value or $10 min per coin.

NZ market is slow and steady. Nothing spectacular. Always a few strong buyers and sellers, mostly downunder.

The process, including grading, took less than a month.

Once NCS passes the coins on to NGC, do the coins show up in your NGC Collector's Society online order status, or do you just not know the status of anything until a package arrives from either NCS or NGC?

One of the two coins I sent into NCS may not be able to be graded by NGC, in which case I assume I'll get one package from NCS and a later onr from NGC. Can any of this stuff be tracked online?

Very nice, I like coins with Emu Drumsticks on them!!!

They did a fantastic job on that first one. Think I just might make use of their services after all...

I don't know if they have an on-line tracking system. The first status update I get is when the coins are shipped.

They show up on your online "order status" once NGC has them in their computer.
