T.O. trashes McNabb in new book

Terrell Owens spends much of his book, T.O., trashing former teammate Donovan McNabb and blaming McNabb for the fallout between the two stars that led to Owens' exile from Philadelphia. In the book, Owens paints McNabb as a hypocrite, a weak leader and someone who was jealous of Owens and blocked Owens' return to the Eagles after a four-game suspension.

Cowboys vs Eagles at Philly this season should be an interesting game played with some emotion.

Well now, that sure is a shocker.

<< <i>The book, called "T.O.," from Simon & Schuster and is co-authored by the brother of agent Drew Rosenhaus, Jason Rosenhaus.

And not shockingly, Owens spends much of book trashing former teammate McNabb and blaming McNabb for the fallout between the two stars that led to Owens' exile from Philadelphia.

In the book, Owens paints McNabb as a hypocrite, a weak leader and someone who was jealous of Owens and blocked Owens' return to the Eagles after a four-game suspension.

And Owens paints himself as a heroic but sometimes flawed figure who was wronged by McNabb, arbitrator Richard Bloch, coach Andy Reid and the Eagles.

"I accept that I played a role in tearing apart the Eagles season, but the blame was not all mine," Owens said.

But Owens puts most of the blame on McNabb. >>

Much talk in the Philly press about the book after some Wal Marts released it five days early.

Typical T. Blow. Written by Rosenhaus's brother too.

    The Cowboys deserve him.

He'll be crushed come October 8, hopefully in both the literal and figurative sense.

TO is the best receiver in football, and I wish that things would have worked out. They didn't, and I am glad he is gone.

Wasn't it curious that McNabb got no support in the press from his players, while many players backed TO?

Why were the only people backing McNabb management, and not players?

Totally not true. Owens was "owned" in the locker room by a few defensive players, and I haven't heard "many" who backed TO.

I don't recall a single player giving his support to McNabb in the media...only Reid and management.

I do recall several players saying they wanted TO back.

  • The only player to say he wanted him back was Jeremeiah(sp) Trotter. But if you look at the course Trotter's own career took, you can easily see some similarities. While Hugh Douglas, Brian Westrook, and Brian Dawkins all came out in support of "Their QB".

T.O IMO is the very best wr in the league and the problem is that HE KNOWS IT, we will see how Parcells and Bledsoe deals with him.

AX I know Hugh Douglas had a problem with TO and I think he actually had hands on with him in the locker room.

Oh, are you talking about this fight? For one, he didn't speak out "for" McNabb per say. Secondly, that's a "former" teammate, not a current one. And finally, I can't think of another excuse he will use, so there image

If T.O. blasted McNabb as QB with the numbers McNabb puts up, how long will it take for him to rip Bledsoe who stands back in the pocket on some plays like the Statue of Liberty!

To is a baby and bucs are going to pound him like we usually do. They still every once in a while play that SF/Bucs game highlight where
TO is making a catch and a bucs defensive player knocks him into to tomorrow and takes the ball and goes the other way. TO may be
great but in the big games he chokes! Ask Garcia about choking...urrrr in big games.

Funniest thing about all this is Eagle fans would welcome TO back with wide open arms if a reconcilliation had happened, despite all their bluster about him being a bum.

  • that might be true in philly, but niner fans would NEVER let that turd burglar back in town.
  • ^^Great way to defend your previous BS statement. lol, the Eagles don't want him back and don't need him back. I'm saying this as a Giants fan. With the O-line the 'Girls have this season, Bledsoe will be lucky to repeat the end of last season. He's going to get pounded, and with a small back in Julius Jones I doubt he'll get any relief. It's great to see the NFC East stacked once again! Go NYG's!!!!

The Cowboys became the favorite in the east the day TO signed.

Eli is going to continue to throw 4th quarter interceptions, the Eagles will suffer through another sub .500 year, while the Redskins loaded up.

The division is likely to fall:

    Cowboys
    Redskins
    Giants
    Eagles

  • lol. You know nothing about football. Simply following ESPNs lead. The cowboys signed an oft injured and overrated LB(that Jax didn't even WANT back), a non clutch kicker, and a head case. The Skins owner Snyder once again opened his wallet and signed guys that really won't make that big of a difference. How good are Lloyd and Randle El? Only as good as the overthehill Brunell will take them. Archuleta? Talk about a guy who has more sacks than pickoffs for a career(Mind you neither stat is mindnumbing). The Eagles had arguebly one of the best drafts, and somehow many forget about the Pre-TO team that literally whupped up on the NFC. Without TO. Now with an improved O-line and D-line, they are setting up to be a suprise. While the Giants queitly added Sinorice Moss, Lavar Arrington, Will Demps, Sam Madison, and most importantly rid the secondary of Will Allen.

At this point in his career Eli has better numbers than Peyton or Archie had in the beginning of their careers respectively. With a strong offense and defense around him, he'll continue he's progression as one of the best up and coming QBs in the league.

BTW, the Eagles have had 5(count em) 5 straight playoffs appereances before the debacle of last season. It was bigger than just TO, the loss of Corey Simon and Derrick Burgess as well Mcnabb going down. McNabb has a record of 60-28 as a starter(.682 Winning %, highest among active QBs). He's no slouch. This team is built on defense and I like the improvements that have been made to the D-line. I'm not saying they will go to the playoffs by any means, as when the Eagles had their run the NFC East was bottom of the barrel and now pretty much every team in the Division has a shot.

All in all, the NFC East is deep. It's going to be great to watch.

You seem to forget that time stands still for no man...and that 'pre-TO team' is now years older, slower, and weaker. Who is McNabb going to throw to? A bunch of WRs that would be lucky to be #3 guys on any other team? Who's going to run the ball? Westbrook? bwahaha thanks for the laugh. The eagles are going to be under .500 this year.

<< <i>At this point in his career Eli has better numbers than Peyton or Archie had in the beginning of their careers respectively. With a strong offense and defense around him, he'll continue he's progression as one of the best up and coming QBs in the league. >>

I've won as many super bowls as Peyton has, so that comparison is a dopey one. Eli shown a tendency his older brother has - choking when the game's on the line. Look at his INT numbers last year, and see how many came in the fourth quarter. He just can't close the deal.

So for that 60-28 record, he surely won a superbowl by now, hasn't he? Oh wait, he hasn't? That's what I thought. CHOKER. TO called him on it, and no one stood up to defend McNabb.

How'd they do against a real team in the playoffs?

Wait, what was that? Shut out? A top 5 team in points scored put up exactly ZERO points against Carolina? At HOME, too?

Let's also point out that due to their division finish, their schedule is going to be considerably tougher this year. Eli, say hi to top tier team defenses!

And you figure this season the team to be less potent? With Manning having a full season under his belt, a steal in Sinorice Moss, a much improved secondary and linebacking corp? lol. Its possible he could improve, or its possible he will be like his brother and never win a title.

  • What does that have to do with improving? lol, NYG's have a defense. The receiving corp doesn't mind some helmet knocking. Peyton is still quite young, your really going out there on a limb and saying he'll "never" win a title. Is it that bad to be this generations Marino?

I wonder if he wishes he never made it. His legacy is "sure he was great but......"

It is probably unfair but he will be remembered more for having a great career but never winning the big. He never got a second chance.

Looks like topps would rather have have his QB put up a ton of numbers over actually winning games.
