Just a note to alert everyone about a new web site that I've been in the process of launching now for about 2 weeks. SportsCollectorsDaily.com is now live.
It's a content-driven site...sort of an on-line newspaper for the hobby. I believe it's a long time coming and I hope it's something you find valuable...or at least entertaining. It's a work in progress, so please check back as we try to make the site more navigatable (is that a word?) and add more original news stories.
Of course, your feedback is welcomed along with any story ideas or suggestions you may have. Please check out the About Us/FAQ and blog pages for more info.

By the way, I'm looking for 'experts' to contribute regular columns (maybe once a week) that we can nest on one page. If you have a specialty (vintage cards/graded cards/modern cards/game used memorabilia/publications, etc ......or know a dealer in the industry who would like some excellent exposure by putting together a few worthwhile paragraphs, please let me know. I'll be glad to include your website (if you have one) with each column or blog.
You need to click on the links to the stories (highlighted in blue text). That will take you to the story (or eBay listing as the case may be).
Nice start! I found some interesting stuff to read - like Topps financials.
Good luck on your new web.
Only minor criticism - IMO - the main page could be graphically a little more attractive - it's kind of bland.

Thanks...glad you liked it.
The site has only been up about a week so I think we're off to a decent start. We're doing this on a limited budget right now, so the template isn't award-winning, but I'm hoping the content will make up for it. Eventually we may morph into something a little more eye-catching.
We'll start doing some more original stories too.
It reminds me of a "free" card-equiv of a paysite
known as mortgagedaily.com.
I like getting a bunch of headlines so I can decide
if I want to spend time reading.
If you have not already done so, you might consider
offering some BIG ebayers some links in exchange
for "something."
It is hard to make money with most of these things,
but MANY do VERY well, if they can get national
exposure. When you get it looking like you want
it to, send a media-advisory to Keith Olbermann, (MSNBC)
and maybe he will "make fun of it;" if he does,
you will get many thousands of visitors.

I do some of my best ponderin' while sitting in my "library!"
You've captured the essence of what the site is about. We're a ways from being subscription based...just want to let everyone see what it's about right now, get some feedback and make improvements as we go. If you like it, please spread the word. Thanks for your input.
An update on the Topps troubles today....SportsCollectorsDaily Front Page
"Topps sent a letter to shareholders urging them to cut "through Pembridge's rhetoric and self-serving criticism of Topps." It asked them to question the qualifications of the individuals the dissidents wanted to elect to the board, among them "a consultant lawyer who also worked at this 'boutique' investment bank; and a 30-year-old" three years out of business school, and to have faith in company's plans to increase shareholder value."
".......No sign the sports card business wil ever grow again."
A bunch of desperate old men trying to shaft the consumer-base
with junk offerings. They do not want young folks involved in
running the firm, but they want to continue to rip-off young folks
with unsatisfying and EXPENSIVE package goods.

I think i will personally enjoy the E-bay heavy hitters section and the Finds section.
Please spread the word!
