Different way of looking at it I guess.
Quote from ad - "PSA 9 without oc qualifier lists for $500 in the SMR guide) (Take a look at the picture - for $300 less this not that badly off center at all."
1972 clemente psa 9 mint
I just checked, SMR is 450 for a 9 and 48 for a 7.
I love 9 oc cards that aren't horribly oc, and the clemente looks nice, but if I'm buying a bargain card I want a bargain price.

Yup.
And, the L/R OC in this style of card makes it VERY
hard to retain ANY "eye-appeal."
But, picture the same card T/B OC. Even at 90/10
it could still have "eye-appeal."
As soon as I figure out how to reduce the size of
my pictures and post links, I will post some OCs
that pass "my test."

When you open the email the pic that was about 400KB is now about 40KB and you're all set.
If you use photobucket they give you an image link right under the pic on your photobucket page. Copy it and paste it into your message here and it'll work fine.
I have a few 9 oc's that are ugly, some that really aren't all that off-center, and a couple that I wanted the card and it was the nicest I could find.
i agree, the centering on that card is terrible.

Let's compare this non-qualified with the qualified one - I think the 9 is in the 70/30 range? But, just look at this 8?
I guess the good day, bad day thing is in play here?

I like the card but it has 1/1 and no (oc) in the header, I know that doesn't sit well with most guys.
1/1 PSA mint 9
Jack Evans
I have not a clue who Mr. Evans is, BUT
the subject card is EXACTLY the kind of OC
that "passes my test."
Great eye-appeal.
But, under the current scheme of valuations,
you gotta buy it cheap.
That set only has about 8 or 10 money cards.
If I was building the set, I would buy those first.
That is another subject........
If folks look at SMR, I doubt this card will go too
high.
I would definitely buy it, and I would likely pay more
than the 7 price.
I have no idea who the seller is. But, the card is
cheap so it really makes no difference.
I vote "buy it."
