Minimum Grade. I'm guessing that the damaged cases also damaged the cards in them - so they are no longer worthy of the grade they formerly had.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
  • mnstortuga: I assume you used crossover service?

When you enter your minimum grade on the submission form, if the grader feels he can't give it your minimum grade (e.g. you write in 8 and he feel it's a 7), then the result will show "M/G" and they send it back to you in the original slab you sent in. Unfortunately, I recently sent in a crossover submission where about 1/2 of the grades were M/G. image

edited to add: If these were PSA slabs, I did not know "M/G" would be used with "review" service, but like MikeSchmidt stated, maybe the damaged slabs caused damage to the cards.

Kurtman I think they were psa holders that were damaged, and he sent them to get reholdered. Maybe the cards got damaged in the broken holders while they were on the ride to PSA.

...or damaged at the same time as the holders....

  • Thank you all for the help. This was a mix of SGC crossovers and PSA re-holder cards. Both were damaged by heat and smoke but they were all still air tight. One was a 56' Mays (SGC 88) that got the n/a...the only crossover that was graded was a 76 Topps Yaz in a 96 to a PSA 9...it was also the least damaged one of the group. All the PSA's were reholdered. I sent in about 60 more (damaged) PSA's so I'm crossing my fingers.
