$1450 for a Udonis Haslem card?!?!

This is probably the craziest price I've ever seen for the card of a player who will NEVER even make an all-star game.

Spending $10,000 for an Exquisite Lebron or Dwayne Wade is crazy, but at least those guys are almost Jordan-like and household names who can carry their teams to multiple titles in the next decade.

Udonis Haslem is a poorman's Theo Ratliff for crying out loud!

LOL!

    I like this line
5.THE NUMBER ON THE CARD IS 23/99 WHICH WILL BE COOL IF YOU HAVE THE LEBRON 23/99

Wouldnt it be cooler to have the Lebron than the Haslem with Lebron's number?

Amazing what people pay on some things.

Did you see the winner's name? Looks like Zhang Ziyi has taken some time off after filming Memoirs of a Geisha, etc image

But there are only 99 of them.

So the implied value of that jersey is approximately $130,000, assuming the full jersey was used in the card [which it wasn't], plus, as a bonus, 99 autographs to boot.

    Woo-hoo!

Sorry that I missed that Gem
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
  • I'm going to go out on a limb and make an assumption about the person that won the auction. I'm going to assume, based on their username, that they are of Asian decent even though they set up in Australia. Basketball is extremely hot in Asian countries and people seem to lose all reason when 03-04 Exquisite is involved. That said, this really doesn't surprise me. BTW, my post was not meant to offend anyone of Asian decent. I apologize in advance if it did. image

I'm a Haslem fan and I wouldn't even THINK about buying this card. Now, if this was the final card needed to complete a full set of these cards and I had money falling out of every orifice, then I would contemplate making an offer 1/2 of what was made.

Moreover, I don't even like the looks of the card.

I had a painter come in and repair some major cracks in my livingroom and repaint; paint two bedrooms and about 8 doors and retexture and paint the kitchen for 1300$ - I think I got the better end of the deal!

  • Well for 1300 I could put in a granite countertop in my kitchen. Oh wait, that's what I did lol.

BTW, I think that looks cheap. Yeah yeah jersey/auto/rookie. But why does the actual card look so "un"exquisite?

  • Geez, I wouldn't buy that card with Stone's money!
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12

Just makes ZERO sense why someone would pay so much for a relatively "common" card of a "semi" star at best. CRAZY!!!!
