Have noticed on Ebay??

More sellers selling raw or graded cards with a price sticker on them? It is like they are trying to say that this is what I would sell the card for at a show or at my shop. Is that legal by Ebay standards??

I don't see why it would be a problem.

It's the same as somebody quoting SMR in a psa 9 when the card they're selling is creased, or somebody listing psa9 when it's actually psa 9 oc.

They're obviously trying to take advantage of the stupid. It probably works, there's a lot of stupid people on ebay.

I don't know what the rule is - since I don't sell - but I would guess that's from trying to sell it at a local show? My son still has a ton of cards with little stickers on them from beckett values - amazing actually!
    A card with a 2 buck sticker wouldn't bring 10 cents today!

What always bothers me is when someone quotes Nm Beckett and is showing you a Vg or Ex card.

I used to see it all the time in SCD.

Many big eBay sellers leave the stickers on.
Sometimes the stickers are the same or more
    than the asking price.

The stickers are hard to get off, sometimes.
Once removed, the spot often has to be
rubbed with a damp/dry T-shirt to erase the
    "glue spot."

Stickers make selling in person MUCH easier.
Buyers are conditioned to accept sellers'
"discount prices" as legit when the sticker
confirms the oral "discount." I have switched
to "price-sheets," but they are not what I
am used to and they make for "sales pitch"
    challenges.

TIP: If you must use stickers for shows, the
ONLY safe ones are made from "Post-Its."
Cut the glue strips off and use them as your
tag; they come off with little or no mark.

  • As far as ebay.....I don't see anything wrong with it.

As far as shows.....As I'm wallking around, I'll pass without paying attention to a seller who was to lazy to price the cards he is selling. If a seller wants my money he better have makred the cards with an asking price. Also, I'll generally not haggle with the seller. If I see an item that I want and the price is reasonable, I'll buy it for the sticker price.

I agree with Rich and the others, the stickers they need for the shows have to stay on the sleeve or sellers would waste to much time screwin around with them. In some cases the sticker may help raise the price, or it could have the opposite effect and put a ceiling on the bids. I don't think it's wrong or lazy, it's just an easier way of doing things.

I get lots of cards with stickers on them, they can be such a pain in the butt, I hate them image
