1808/7 BUST HALF DOLLAR - AU

Gorgeous, colorfully toned in electric- blue/gray/brown hues. The surfaces are more vibrant than the pic shows, and there are just a few marks from the short time spent in circulation. The strike is very good considering that the die cracks are in full bloom. The left wing on the eagle is unusually sharp for this overdate. There is a pair of parallel defects below the ear (mint-made?) but they are toned over and not bright.
This is a very difficult overdate coin to find in high grade. $750 delivered in the U.S.

Edited to say: I know nothing about the series, that is why I posed the question.
<< <i>Would it not be best to first send the coin in to get graded? Better for you and the buyer, no?

I think the chances of that coin getting into PCGS or NGC plastic are slim.
