Mauer rookie card

OK, I haven't bought a modern card in 20 years but my son wants a Joe Mauer card. Which one of the 348 cards that all claim to be his rookie card are actually the one from each company? Which is the best one?
Thanks in advance!

Any of the following will do:

    2002 Bowman (cheapest)
    2002 Bowman Chrome
2002 Bowman Chrome Gold Refractor Auto (about $1000 now!)

The Gold Refractor is $1000 now? The new Beckett has it for $350, but they aren't always up to date...

I have a 2002 Bowman Chrome Refractor Auto PSA 9 (how much are these going for, then?) - I think the Bowman Chrome is the card to get, even a non-refractor.

Or, if you prefer to go the minor league card route, these could be "Master Set" RCs:

    Here you go...some heavy coinage...

    Mauer
  • I think his bowman chrome is the best. I have a bowman chrome refractor psa 9, and a bowman's best. I also have 2 autographed baseballs and one mini bat from the Twins Fest. Without a doubt, Mauer is one of the nicest players that I have talked to in a long time.

Bowman Chrome is his best rc, hands down.

If you want a nice autographed rc (and substantially cheaper investment) The Bowman Heritage rc auto and the bowmans best are both nice bets that can be had for <$100 still.
