WTB: 1884 VAM-2A Morgan

I would like to purchase an MS-63/64 example of this variety, PCGS certified. Is around $150.00 about right?

    Bud:

As with many VAMs, prices paid so far have been astoundingly erratic and make no real sense when you sit back and look at them as a group. In today's market, I would think $150 for a PCGS-63 would be a good deal. Here is everything I have collected so far for VAMview:

    1884- 2A 66 PCGS Mar-06 H $1,035
    1884- 2A 64 raw Mar-06 E $230
    1884- 2A 64 ANACS Feb-06 E $127
    1884- 2A 64 ANACS Sep-05 H $115
    1884- 2A 64 ANACS Apr-06 E $85
    1884- 2A 63 PCGS Feb-06 PP $275
    1884- 2A 63 PCGS Jan-06 E $150
    1884- 2A 63 ANACS Jun-05 E $75
    1884- 2A 63 raw May-06 E $36
    1884- 2A 63 ANACS Jun-05 E $63
    1884- 2A 61 NGC Apr-06 TT $123
    1884- 2A 58 ANACS Feb-06 E $134
    1884- 2A 58 ANACS Apr-06 E $38
    1884- 2A 50 ANACS Oct-05 E $100
    When in doubt, don't.

It would be more fun for you to cherry on already in a PCGS holder for $100 or so and send it in. That variety is not all that rarethough it is interesting.

Thanks, guys. Skimming over VAMview pricing history is how I got the $150.00. I agree that cherrying an example would be neat. Much of my Registry Set (#8) has been unattributed examples sent in to PCGS. I have been waiting for over a month now for four to be attributed, relabeled and returned from Variety Review. As soon as I get those four back, I'm sending four more in. Cherrying is fun!
