WOW. Let me just say that it was worth the 1 hour and 45 minutes of redialing through the busy signals!

WOW WOW WOW. If you like modern proofs, or specifically modern proof gold. Wow.

It is interesting that the fields around the Buffalo and Indian head are not smooth! It looks sort of like a lake when the water is just about still but not quite.

It is simply beautiful. The Mint did a fabulous job. I am highly satisfied.

Mine looks like gold leaf poorly adhered or lamination in the fields. I was a bit concerned so headed straight for this forum. What I'm reading makes me feel better, but it probably won't grade that high. I'm thinking maybe the mints Eagle process with harder 95% gold planchets isn't working on this softer 99.9% pure gold. So maybe the first 20,000 or so might be this way until they figure the new process out.

If that's the case do I send it back or hope that these are special rare burning Buffalo's?

They must have sent them out on the 28th the date that they told me when I purchased mine. I am on my way to the PO in the morning to see if they are in. I will have to get them in to NTC for grading and hopefully they will come back MS71.
