Among the coins I got from auctions recently was this one that is already R-6 according to Leroy. However, the piece I have has some breaks that overshadow the variety attribute listed in the Update. Clearly it is a later die state. Well, it is off to him to examine. The hair break looks like something ona Peace dollar and the nose breaks, though small, are disturbing.

I don't follow. Why does this "disturb" you? Wouldn't a late or new die state and/or VAM be a good thing?...Mike

Perhaps poor word choice. They are just weird. But I like weird, especially in these things. I suppose lesions on the nose are less disturbing than a worm encroaching on the eye
