    I think he only needs 34 more homeruns to reach 500. Does that mean he is a hall of famer?

    I doubt that Canseco will ever make it back to MLB, but even if he did and reached 500 HRs, I don't see him getting more than a handful of votes for the HOF. 500 HRs in this day and age is no longer a magic number for admittance to the Hall. I think the only legitimate power hitter with over 500 HRs over the last few years is Ken Griffey, Jr. You can bet that if Griffey were the one approaching Aaron's record right now that MLB (and Bud Selig) would be celebrating the chase instead of wishing it would all just go away.
