Somebody dropped a monster Lincoln in the Baltimore Bowers auction: 1909-s vdb PCGS MS67RD

Lot # 482

Pop 9/0

Hard to tell from the pics if it is truly a 67, but the bid is already up to $69,000 including the juice.

And there will be another one in the August Bowers ANA auction which is probably a better coin.

Is it my imagination or are the pops exploding on that particular coin? image

A pop 9/0 coin approaching $100k? It must be Stewart's fault.

I just thought it was interesting that there were 105 small cent lots in that auction and 104 were basically average grade (can't speak to the actual coins yet) and then this monster grade Lincoln sitting right in the middle of them.

Rumor has it that the one in the Denver auction is the nicer of the two.

Well, there's two of the nine out there. Anybody else want to toss one in the circus ring?image

TDN, pop on MS66 went from 151 to 160 in the last 30 days. We'll see if any certs get returned in the next 30.
