Very sincere CONGRATS from a guy that truly understands your trek. I consider the 65 Topps BB set as one of the best sets available. Great design. Great color. Great Players. I am currently at 17 on the list - so no real threat to you YET. But I welcome the day that we could be considered peers. Congrats again - Jack

    thanks guys.

    Bill

off the top of my head i'd say

    1.......card 250 willie mays

2.............134 mantles clutch home run (love the action shot) even though I have heard it really is not the shot of that homer.

    3..........the rest are tied!

    Good for you.

GREAT JOB STEVE!I know you worked real hard at it-with the current bargin basement prices for 8's and 9's you should be able to upgrade to 8.0 pretty quickly-some nice 9's currently listed on e-bay that you may need.I do not have any except a 9 SPAHN which I will list shortly-also may have a #597 8 if I win the 9.Most of mine go before I list them so let me know if you want me to keep you informed as I continue to upgrade.Only need 15 more to have all 9's and higher-but RUM keeps out bidding me and I do not want to pay double and triple market value to upgrade a card-to each his own.You are the fifth collector that I have significantly helped to complete their set.I am real proud of you!!!!-DUKE

Congrats Steve on your accomplishment, it must feel tremendous (I can't wait for that feeling when I get the last 30 something more cards to complete my '61 set). The fact that you scanned every card in the set shows how much this set means to you. Thanks for sharing this with your fellow collectors!

Can anyone recall the most money that was spent on a PSA 10 commons?

For the 65 set? I recall a few going for a grand or a lil more.

when I first started the set they went for around 300.00

last few I saw went for 750.00 but had a top bid of 1234.56 the usual top bid for the winner of the 10's

    Steve

    Good for you.

Hi Steve, Congrats on a very pretty set. I love the bright colors and the player content is top notch. A truely great era of baseball that we will never see again. I started a set of my own twice but both times I didn't have the cash to really do it right. I may try again someday when my 56 quest is completed. Neil
