1983 FB box

I just opened a box of 1983 FB, hoping to pull a perfect M. Allen RC. I didn't even get the card! Just my luck! Oh well, I least I got 2 Montana and 2 Gary Anderson RCs. I think I'll even submit one of the Andersons as it came out very sharp.

Anybody else had a hard time getting the Allen card in packs?

    I couldn't afford an 83 box so I just bought some cherrypicked rooks. LMK what other rooks you have buddy.

    Very strange considering that one box should yeild multiples since the number of cards in the set is low.

    The Allen RC is a double-print, so it isn't that hard to get, but even a legit box can be Allen-less.

    With no double-prints, you should (on average) get 13*36/396 or 1.18 of each card. The double-prints should make the average box contain more than that number of Allens, and slightly fewer of the single-print cards, but the change is unknown because the meaning of double-print isn't always that there are exactly twice as many of the DP cards in an average box.

    I bought 2 wax boxes once and did not get an Allen, I did get 2 packs though that had Montana on the front and another with Singletary on the front so I don't think these were searched. Ended up with 4 Singletarys, 6 Paytons and 6 Montanas if I remember right.

    I have opened a lot of 83 Football, and though I didnt have trouble pulling the Allen Rookie card it would always be way oc when I did pull it. It wasnt until I lucked up and bought a hand collated set that I got a good one submitted and got a gem mint 10. I have a couple of monster boxes full of 83 football that have been pulled from packs within the last two years, still waiting to submit a lot of them, just havent found the funds or time.

    I pulled 3 this week in rack packs. If you need raw let me know. I cant remember if they are o/c or not but i'll check tonight.
