<< <i>Excuse my stupidity, but I'm confused as to the difference between the refractor and the regular card. >>
REFRACTORS have a (for lack of a better word) "refractive" coating that will show different colors in the light. I believe that, due to confusion, all 1995 Refractors have "Refractor" on the back of the card under the number.
Below is a "refractor" from 1993 -- see the color changes due to the flash?
The only thing I can add is that you'll know one when you compare them with a bunch of the regular cards.
If you fan the cards out under the light - since refractors are scarce, it will "stick out" - as was said - it "refracts" the light differently and looks totally different.
I think only the 1993 Finest issue has the refractors "unmarked/not designated" and all later issues have the word "refractor" on the back of the card.
Here is a 1993 card I have. Can anyone tell if it is a refractor? I am really struggling with this. I bought a collection and it had 12 of these 1993 cards. I want to grade them if they are refractors. I appreciate all comments and suggestions.
