Fake 2000 SP Auth Brady RC?

This is a first. At first, I thought this was just a bad scan, but after looking closely, I saw something really weird. I've got three of these and none of them have the "white space" beneath his feet like this. The auction is over $400 at this time. Before I send this seller or the buyer an email, has anyone seen this before? I just want to make sure I'm not sounding a false alarm if this is some sort of seldom seen variation.

*EDIT: after looking at it carefully again, I'm willing to buy that it's just an optical illusion caused by the scan. The seller seems to have good feedback so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

It looks like it may just be in the scan. If you look at the left side, the white line extends to the edge of the scan. Also, looking at his feet, they aren't cut off any higher than the other cards. I think he just got a white streak in his scan somehow.

Hmm. The suspicious Brady is a bit taller than the others.
