Mickey's Sportscards

Anyone do business with Mickey's Sportscards (www.mickeysclubhouse.com)? How's their assessment of raw card condition? I see a few raw 60s and 70s cards that I'm interested in over there, but there's no pictures. I notice he has a lot of PSA graded stuff, so I figure he has a pretty good basis on which to estimate a raw card's grade, but I wanted to check with all you card connoisseurs first.

Stand up guy, far as I know....He's purchased from me b4, but I haven't looked at his raw stuff, only PSA graded. Knowledgable & probably a better bet than some Raw Card Shiesters we all know and love

Ditto - Mickey's is topnotch. He's even got some imitators who've try to capitalize on the name, but none come close to his service, IMO.

I placed an order of raw cards last week and got them yesterday. Very impressed and I'm about to place another order. The cards I got were either graded accurately or too conservatively, which is always refreshing. image

Any chance you can show a scan and the condition that Mickey's stated? I am looking to order some cards now and I would like to see how yours look.

    I like Mickey's.

I would go by their return policy on graded and raw:

You may return any single card for a full refund for any reason within five (5) days of receipt. You simply need to send us an e-mail with the following information - offending card (s), date of receipt, and amount of expected refund. We will have your refund processed immediately upon receipt at Mickey's of the return. This policy applies to both graded and non-graded cards. If you wish to return a card which was rejected as altered by PSA, we will handle these occurrences on a case-by-case basis, and may issue a store credit or refund based on the a reasonable standard.

    Their complete Return Policy.

One can't ask for much more.

Well...some may - but then again some people expect to find a diamond up a goat's ass.

One of the few dealers who prices their inventory according to real world prices.

    A+

    Loves me some shiny!
  • They were very helpful. I asked for a higher resolution scan of this 69 Topps 4-in-1, and they responded quickly and were just great to chat with. I believe this was listed as NrMt, and I'm quite pleased with it:

This love fest makes me want to go buy some of Mickey's cards... but I have exceeded my card budget for this decade so far this year. image

I have spent nearly 5-figures with Mick and would consider him the closest "cyber-friend" I have in the business. I regret not having done as much this year for I have stopped buying raw cards for my sets. Half of the cards I have in my two sets came from him and when stopped doing the 61, 64 and 65 sets, he bought all of my raws back for a good price. The best thing is not only their integrity and superior customer service but many of his raws are under-graded!

Here ya go. Big scan, so if you're on dialup, sorry.

Ok. Here's what Mickey's called em.

    1972 John Cumberland = ex/mt
    1972 Ken Henderson = ex/mt
    1971 Skip Pitlock = ex/mt

    1972 Jerry Johnson = NMT+
    1972 Chris Speier = NM/MT
    1971 Frank Reberger = NMT

    image

I went over the cards with a 10x loupe to check corners, edges, etc. For my raw stuff, centering doesn't weigh very heavily, as long as it looks good. The NM+ cards were accurately graded. Of the ex/mt cards, I'd consider some of them to be a lot closer to NM+ than EX/MT. Shoot, I have PSA 8s that don't look as good. image

I ordered around 23 1971s and 72s (all MY SF Giants), and they all look like they were recently busted out of packs or vending boxes. A dinged corner on a few of the ex/mts earn them the grade, but none of these cards look like they spent any time in some kid's shoe box, and I love that.

Agreed, especially the Henderson and Cumberland cards.
