I am sure this subject has been beaten to death before, but I was wondering who you guys figure is the best auction house to consign sportscards with. Are some houses better then others depending on sport or does it matter???image

I think it depends on what you're selling. 19th Century would probably do best with Mastro or REA, a '60's high end HOFer with Goodwin or Madec.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

  • Sorry I didnt post it before I collect hockey cards so would be selling those.

  • Mintxpress for ebay consignment for catalog Madec or Goodwin or Brian at mile high would be fine .
  • Thanks for the help. Never thought about consignment through ebay. Interesting to know it is available. Always figured you had to sell it all yourself on ebay. I was thinking Lelands as well but not sure if that is the best place for hockey.

Mastro would have been a good choice a few months ago since it appears they are involved in shill bidding practices image

  • If I had to cosign with an auction site it would be with either Mastronet or RE. However, I never understood why anyone with good ebay feedback would want to do this instead of just listing the item on ebay with the first bid equaling the lowest you will accept for the item you are selling. With the auction houses, it's very possible that you will end up selling your item for less than you wanted since they start the auctions with a low opening bid.

The way I look at it, if mastronet is guilty of this, it has helped the sellers and not hurt them. Obviously, when people read this article it may hurt the future sellers. However, I honestly don't think they are guilty. I have a hard time believing what I read in news papers especially politically far left papers like the one this article came from.
