I was checking my registered sets, of which one is a complete 1955 Red Man set. I saw I moved up to number 4, which didn't make sense, since I haven't added any new cards in months.
I took a closer look and saw that RGOLD collected his 2006 set registry awards on the all time finest list for his sets, but is no longer on the current finest lists.
Ron, if you have retired your sets to pursue other interests, congratulations and good luck. Your collection of Red Mans will always be Number 1. Thank you for the help you have given me.

Yes, I did retire my four Red Man sets 1952-55. I promised other collectors, and myself, that I would retire the sets if they were the top sets five years in a row. It is time to let a few other guys have a turn at the top.
Besides, to be honest, I wanted to have a little more flexibility on how I went about upgrading the sets from now on.
I am still collecting Red Man cards, still trying to improve my sets, and still maintaining my website www.redmancards.com. So I am not going away, and who knows, I may pop up some year and retake the title hee hee.
I have a great selection of Red Man cards on eBay now if anyone wants to get started collecting these great cards. Or if anyone just has questions about Red Man cards, email me at rgold7000@aol.com

RON that is a noble gesture.
I know of many owners of top sets who retire their sets when they sell, but no one else who retires them to give
others a chance to take the lead. Thats a very decent thing to do...jay

I have been selling off my many extras, that I had been hoarding, and I have even sold some of the cards from my sets. In my judgment, Red Man sets cannot attract collectors if there are no cards available to collect. The populations are so low, that I felt it was time to let others have a chance at them.
Plus, collectors are motivated to upgrade their sets, when they perceive that they have a chance to win regisrty awards.
The other benefit to me is that I now have more freedom to upgrade my own Red Man sets the way I want, and to pursue some other collecting interests.
Hope you all continue to enjoy my website www.redmancards.com.
I mean it is for sale or it wouldn't be on eBay, but I have mixed feelings. I already sold my other PSA 8 in a private sale for over $4,000. Anyway, if it sells, I still have this one .
Superb Card.
Ron, I'm amazed at your inventory. You must have a pretty high percentage of all the PSA 8 or 9 cards ever graded.
I just recently decided to make most of my extras available to other collectors of Red Man sets. I have very few 1953 and 1955 left, but there are still a bunch of nice 1952 and 1954.
If anyone has ever thought about starting a Red Man set, take a look at my eBay store or contact me at rgold7000@aol.com.
