What would be my best choice to sell this Cards uni?

This uni is matching in design and era but is two different players'. The jersey belonged to a player named Steve Bilko and the pants to pitcher Howie Pollet. Both Cardinals and the uni is from 1949-1951. What's going to realize a better price? Mastro or ebay? And what is an advantage to selling through Mastro auctions. I see they have a flat 15% fee. Is it worth it? Thanks

Thanks for the info guys. I've sold stuff on ebay about the same value before with no problem. That stuff was gold coins though and when I sold them everyone was buying gold. I may set a BIN price and even a reserve to see what happens. will I still have to pay ebay their auction even if my reserve is not met?

You will have to pay a listing fee based on the reserve price. There is alos a reserve auction fee that you will pay. That is refunded if the item sells.

Have you done any research on what it could/should sell for?

Ball Park Heroes, e.g., has been advertising in SCD for years - selling GU jerseys - (812) 272-2717; I know Grey Flannel Auctions also has been selling and authenticating jerseys for years - www.greyflannelauctions.com.

Just some ideas - the Bilko uni is really vintage - shows a lot of use - if all the "proper" tagging is intact, the jersey would have a lot of appeal IMO.

I know nothing about this kind of stuff but have been reading SCD for 2 decades and little stuff rubs off.

Considering the "common" status of the ballplayer, except, perhaps, for a Cards fan - I don't see any premium to this uniform? If I had to take a guess - a late 40s uni - would be in the 1500-3000
range? I could be all wrong also.

Thanks for the responses. This uni came from Hunt Auctions. Its value was estimated at between $1200-1600. I willingly take $1100 from anyone interested in it. I've enjoyed having it in my memorabilia collection and have considered taking it to a safe deposit at a bank but there's no enjoyment in that and plus I'm switching some of my interests up some so this set has become expendable. I don't have the danged certificate to save my life but still have the auction catalogue that shows the uni and a brief descritption.
